14 floors for 140 years of tourism - the largest Crocant
To celebrate 140 years of tourism on Lošinj, an extraordinary event is planned! On May 3, 2025, the main square of Mali Lošinj will host the creation of the largest and tallest Lošinj crocant ever made.
Master pastry chef Petar Goleš (Porat d.o.o.) will commence this ambitious project at 10 a.m. After a full day of crafting this impressive confection, a traditional sabre-breaking ceremony will take place at 8 p.m., followed by a party featuring the band Parni Valjak.
Standing over 3 meters tall, this sweet creation embodies a rich history. The traditional Lošinj crocant, made from sugar and almonds, symbolizes wealth and prosperity and is traditionally prepared for the island’s most significant celebrations.
According to legend, breaking the crocant brings good luck.
